PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Walden Fire District in the Town of Montgomery will hold a public hearing on its 2024 budget on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at the Walden Fire House located at 230 Old Orange Avenue 5pm- 6pm in the Social Hall. All are welcomed to speak on the preliminary budget. The budget meeting will take place promptly at 6pm. A copy of the preliminary budget may be obtained at the Town Montgomery Town Hall at 110 Bracken Road, Montgomery, New York and at the fire district’s offices at the above address, as well as on the Fire District’s website at www.waldenfd.org. WALDEN FIRE DISTRICT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING PARTIAL PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS AND VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE WORKERS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Public Hearing on the proposed adoption of a resolution granting a partial real property tax exemption pursuant to Real Property Tax Law §466-a for the primary residence of volunteer firefighters and volunteer ambulance workers will be held in and for the Walden Fire District on _March 13, 2023 at 5:30PM at the Walden Fire District offices located at 230 Old Orange Avenue, Walden New York 12586. The proposed Resolution for consideration is abstracted as follows: RESOLVED, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of Walden District, hereby authorizes the Fire District to adopt RPTL §466-a volunteer firefighter and volunteer ambulance worker partial tax exemption for enrolled members of an incorporated fire company, fire department or incorporated voluntary ambulance service as determined by the authority having jurisdiction in the amount of 10% of the assessed value of a primary residence and upon a minimum service requirement of two years based upon the Fire District’s determination as the governing body, subject to all other statutory requirements. WALDEN FIRE DISTRICT NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Walden Fire District (“Fire District”) in the Village of Walden, Orange County invites, sealed bid proposals for 70 Scott Safety SCBA Cylinders. All Bids shall be in accordance with the specifications and general conditions prepared by Fire District. Bidding documents, including a Non-Collusive Bidding Certification, may be obtained commencing November 19, 2020 during regular business hours from Fire District Secretary Denise Miller at the Fire District offices located at 230 Old Orange Avenue, Walden, NY 12586 or by email at: dmiller@waldenfd.org. Sealed bid proposals, with the required attachments, will be received by the Fire District Secretary at the Fire District offices until 5:00p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020. All proposals shall be made in accordance with the bid documents and include the forms so provided. The proposals must be contained within a sealed envelope clearly bearing the name and address of the bidder, the name of bid and the words “SEALED BID – DO NOT OPEN”. Proposals should be addressed and delivered to Denise Miller, Secretary, Walden, Fire District, 230 Old Orange Avenue, Walden NY 12586. Bids will be publicly opened and read at the Walden Fire District Firehouse, 230 Old Orange Avenue, Walden, NY 12586 on December 14, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. The Walden Fire District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and proposals.
